The Kau Kau Wagon is a street level, grass roots, hunger outreach program. Relieving the hunger of the body and of the soul has been the primary mission of the Kau Kau Wagon for over twenty years. We do all we are able to do for those in need unconditionally. We turn no one away based on age, gender, race, religion, illness, handicap, financial or other status. The Kau Kau Wagon’s umbrella of programs include serving healthy meals to whomever is in need including special holiday meals, participation with a dog therapy program, dispersal of clean used clothing and personal care items, initiating referrals for both physical and mental health issues and educating volunteers.
We work with many agencies at various levels and we encourage the community as a whole to volunteer.
The Kau Kau Wagon’s number one goal is to provide hope to those in need in our community. We reach out in various ways. We’ve been operating for more than 20 years, we’re not the solution but we are a part of it. Through each volunteer that has contributed in many ways, time, resources and even an old t-shirt, it has made a difference for those in need. We are who we are because of wonderful people who cared.
