About the Founder

Aloha All

The Kau Kau Wagon was started back in 1987.  I saw a great need in the community to have a program that reached out to those in need. I knew we could make a difference. I knew from personal experience how it was to live through hard times.

Kau Kau Wagon continue to grow sometimes faster then we could afford. All the funding early on came from any over time I was getting and anything I can beg my friends to help with. To this day over 20 yrs later it continue to grow faster and bigger then I had expected. The economy, people who have been laid off and struggling financially to get by. We do the best we can. We help unconditionally.

What is wonderful and speaks  volumes is the trust we have created with those we serve and the community around us that helps us to keep on doing what we do.

The Kau Kau Wagon has become a major service to the downtown communities needy and has drawn a large number of impressive volunteers. Some Kau Kau Wagon volunteers are regulars.
